Week of 12/1/08

Monday: Intro. to Persuasive Essay (DVDWA); Go to Lab to select 1-2 credible sources on topic from list; Print out and bring to class

Tuesday: Plan essay in class

Wednesday: Draft essay in class

Thursday: Revise/edit draft; begin final copy in class

Friday: Finish essay in class

Week of 12/8/08

Monday:  Last Day Essay: due by end of class period; Read House of Scorpion chapters 21-23

Tuesday:  Language Lesson # 11; House of the Scorpion chapters 23-24; Study Guide 20-23 due by end of class

Wednesday:  Read House of the Scorpion Chapters 26-27; Study Guide 26-27 due by end of class

Thursday:  Sentence Combining # 11; Read House of Scorpion 28-29

Friday: Review for Reading final; Study Guide; Study guide given out for teacher made final next Wednesday; House of Scorpion Study guide 28-31 due

AP 5/6 Language and Composition

Week of 12/1/08

Monday:  Get Published! project due in folder; Write compare/contrast essay in group H/W: Read Their Eyes Were Watching God chapters 6-11 by Friday

Tuesday:  Allusion # 8; Compare two letters in groups; which is more effective?

Wednesday:  Bring Their Eyes Were Watching God to read in class; Finish Compare Conrast Essay in groups

Thursday: Intro to the P.A.P.A. analysis tool; Read "Silent Spring" excerpt and do P.A.P.A. analysis for it

Friday: T.E.W.W.G. Quiz Chapters  6-11; Read and analyze "How it Feels to Be Colored Me" by Hurston; Response Log Collection

Week of 12/8/08

Monday:  Pronoun Workshop;  H/W: Finish Reading Their Eyes Were Watching God by final exam next week

Tuesday:   Grammar lesson: Colons vs Semicolons

Wednesday: Study guide for Final Exam given out; Rhetorical Analysis Kincaid essays back; Feedback 2.0 practice

Thursday: Begin essay final: Rhetorical Analysis

Friday:   Finish essay final

Note:  The above may be changed as needed due to class needs, interruptions to schedule, or teacher absence.  For the most part, I adhere to my plans, so you can pretty much count on the assignments and activities listed, even if the days change.
